Establishing A New Normal

Michael Giudicissi

In business, it takes about 2 weeks for a new business practice or policy to "set". Something you introduced 14 days ago should begin to normalize starting today.

When looking back at the drastic changes in our industry since the COVID-10 pandemic, I count March 11th, 2020 as "Day 1". That's the first day I began to hear of widespread closures of facilities. So, that means that this week should mark the establishment of a temporary "new normal" in home care marketing.

Referral sources should, by now, have developed new patterns of interaction and referrals with providers. You should, by now, have developed new patterns of contact and response to those referral sources. This isn't optional. Our industry simply doesn't have the ability to "shut down" and wait this out. Every single patient in need of care of March 10 is STILL in need, PLUS the patients affected and displaced by the virus.

So, what do you do?

Settle into the new normal. Be effective. Don't smother your referral sources. There is a fine line between doing it, and overdoing it when it comes to electronic communication.

If you aren't sure how to develop your marketing plan during this time, watch last week's webinar to get some tips. If you still need help, let's schedule a 1 hour consult to discuss what you should be doing.

We're not shutting down......in fact, it's time for us to step up.

Good Selling!
